Respiratory Therapy is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They work closely with the cardiologists and pulmonologists from Sioux City and Fort Dodge. Dr. Barber is the Medical Director for the department. For Outpatients they provide corporate pulmonary testing for Tyson and Sara Lee; breath alcohol tests for the D.O.T., pulmonary function studies; stress tests; Cardiolite stress tests; 24 & 48 hour holter monitors, overnight oximetry, sleep studies, EEG’s For Inpatients Respiratory Therapy sets up oxygen, checks the oxygen level with pulse oximetry, updrafts, incentive spirometer, chest percussion, BIPAP and ventilator management.
Specializations, Certifications, and Credentials:
The staff has to recertify with 24 hours of CEU’s every 2 years for Respiratory Therapy and complete yearly competency.
