The Health Information Management Department ensures that all patient records – whether in paper form or electronic – are complete, accurate and readily available for patient care. The department has 3 Coding Specialists, 1 Charge Capture Analyst, 3 Record Technicians, a RAC/ROI Coordinator, and a Credentialing Specialist. The Coding Specialists assign diagnosis and procedure codes for all hospital services. The Charge Capture Analyst determines charges for ER Physicians, Observations, recovery, and injection/infusion services. The Technicians are the hospital document scanning experts. They ensure records are complete and accurate. The RAC/ROI Coordinator processes requests for copies of records, as well as coordinates records for Medicare audits. The Credentialing Specialist processes requests for hospital privileges and provides clerical support to the Medical Staff.
